If you're getting confused by all the magical bits and bobs sprinkled throughout the books, here's a reference list for you!

Sees reflections of enemies, but only when you see the whites of their eyes are you in trouble. |

Used to select names for the tri-wizard cup. Appears to be a rough-hewn wooden cup, filled with blue-white flames. Placing your name in the Goblet constitutes a binding magical contract. |

A piece of blank parchment, on which appears a map of Hogwarts when the words "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good" are uttered. It shows secret passages out of the school and the position of every person (and cat) in the building. Also insults anyone who tries to find out its secret. |

Shows the viewer what they want to see in their hearts. The inscription reads: Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi Translates to "I show not your face but your heart's desire" |
