Quidditch

Quidditch is a wizarding game, a bit like soccer to muggles. It is played on broomsticks, with seven players on each of two sides, six goalhoops, and four balls. Confused yet?

Players & Balls

Each team contains: 1 Keeper, 3 Chasers, 2 Beaters, and 1 Seeker.

There are four balls used in the game: the Quaffle, which is red and used for scoring; two Bludgers, which try to knock players off their brooms, and the Golden Snitch - worth 150 pooint and which must be caught by the Seeker to end the game.

The Keeper's job is to prevent the Quaffle being thrown through his team's goalhoops by the opposing team.

The Chasers try to throw the quaffle through the opposing team's goalhoops.

The Beaters stop Bludgers hitting their own team, whilst also trying to hit the other team with them. They deflect the Bludgers using short bats.

The Seeker has to catch the Golden Snitch, which is the size of a golf ball and has wings. The Snitch must be caught to end a game - one has previously been recorded as lasting three months before it was caught.
